Healthwatch Camden Board meeting in Public
Save the date: Tuesday 29th January 2019 - 6pm-8pm.
On Tuesday 29 January 2019, Sir Robert Francis, Chair of Healthwatch England and a resident of Camden will be joining us at our meeting in public. We’ll be at our new offices in Greenwood Place, Kentish Town and members of the public are welcome to join us.
With 152 local teams, supported by over 5,000 volunteers, the Healthwatch network has built links with communities right across the country. It’s also successfully established itself as an integral part of the health and social care system.
The views people share with us are used to shape change in health and social care both locally and nationally, which includes major central government policy decisions.
Sir Robert Francis has a keen interest in national health and social care provision and as a Camden resident our services are close to home. Speaking about his appointment as national Chair in October 2018, he said:
“I have always been very clear in my work to date that those who run, commission and regulate services make the best decisions when they listen to and learn from the experiences of those they care for.
“With the health and care sector under significant pressure, they need a strong and independent Healthwatch to help them hear what people are saying.
“The Healthwatch network has done a fantastic job to date, in particular helping those who often struggle to be heard. This has influenced changes both big and small right across the country.
“I am very excited about this opportunity to amplify the voices of people who use the health and care system and to turn it into insight that will make a genuine difference where it matters most.”
We look forward to welcoming him as well as our local residents to the meeting in public.
